East/West Magazine of London reports that the Padang in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia's most famous cruising spot, is back in business and as busy as ever. Construction work for a new underground car park slowed things for a day or two. The Blue Boy Club in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia's capital, is very popular and located off Jalan Sutan Ismail near the intersection of Jalan Bukit Bintang.

In Bangkok, Thailand, the ever-popular Barbery Club has added a third floor in the same building on Surlwong Road, opening a new cabaret lounge called "Ethernia."

East/West predicts that former Prime Minister Prem Tinsulanond, known affectionately as "Auntie Prem" to Gay Thais, will tara uncing back before long. An anthology of Lesbian autobiographies has just been published in Australia. Words from the Same Heart contains 18 very different essays. At the publishing ceremony in Sydney a mixed audience of about 300 heard several contributors read their works, and then joined with the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence on a communal blessing of the book, its contributors and editors Louise. In Denmark, the national organization for Gays and Lesbians, called LBL/F48 for short, recently celebrated 40 years of fighting for equal rights. The anniversary featured a film festival, acabaret, numerous exhibitions and parties. A giant bonfire and party concluded the festivities in Copenhagan. LBL/F48 has a publication called Part and a Gay Switchboard, phone 01-13-01-12, open Friday to Monday from 8-12 p.m. They are active with the International Lesbian and Gay Association (ILGA) as well as the International Les-< bian and Gay Youth Organization (ILGYO). At present they are twined with POLEN, the Tijuana, Mexico youth group, as members of ILGA. Twin groups pay the membership fees of the less wealthy organization and they both exchange cultural information and support. Orgullo celebrates

The Grupo Orgullo (Pride Group) of San Diego is now three years old. Founded by Lesbians and Gay men, Orgullo is a cultural and social service organization which has hosted fundraisers fiestas to benefit worthy agencies and they have also engaged in direct AIDS-prevention street outreach in San Diego and Tijuana.
